The preacher’s gift is God’s own Word, which you have heard here in this place

He’s no control to change your life, but beckons you to seek God’s face

The power resides within the Word, the God who made the land and see

Though high and holy, lifted up, He reaches down to you and me

Through words of grace, and warning too, the hearers feel the preacher’s heart

Obedience to God’s command is how they will fulfill their part

He’s hard at work reaching the lost, returning them into the fold

Disciple-making is his call, teach them to be, faithful and bold

Spawning leaders coming after, through his ministry they’ve grown

Share the load and speak in measure, for God’s words are not your own

The power in the living Word, spoken by God’s chosen man

Hearts can change and turn the tide, bring God’s blessing on their land

Always ere, the preacher is, an empty vessel to be filled

Used by God to bring His message, the fallow ground His word will till

God’s word affects the preacher’s heart, before the message is begun

And through his voice He speaks to those, who are waiting to be won

Always relying on the Word that God gives him while we wait

Words have power in the kingdom, they will win over hell’s gate

God’s hand is moving through the message, reborn hearts will hear His call

Grace received and strongholds broken, they will come and give their all

Never glory to the speaker, words flow through a willing heart

Glory only to the Father, as His body does each part

Seeking God for all the answers that are needed every day

For the needs of all the searching that he meets along the way

Turn not to the right or left, straight upon the path you’ll stay

Walking humbly with the Master, follow faithful every day

Within His will I’ll be compliant, seeking what He ere might do

With just one heart completely given to do His will and work it through

Walk with me on this adventure, give your life to this pursuit

Joy in service you can’t fathom, life with God is just a hoot!
