I Surrender Me

On coming to the place of willing uncertainty with God

Come today and follow Me, relax your grip and you can see

The things that I could do with one, who fully trusts and loves My Son

Not based upon your skills at all, the part you play, it is quite small

The work is by My hand, divine, and all the glory, it is Mine

My work begins inside of you, I see that there is much to do

You’ll rely upon My word, you’ll find your path in what you’ve heard

Success won’t come from your skill set, obedience is your best bet

Lord, despite the fact that I’ve been stalling, Your voice is still sweetly calling

I now release my own control, of what I have and where I go

I give myself into Your hand, where ever You lead, over sea or land

To speak Your word and do Your will, where ever I go You’re with me still

Attending to the inward things, with grace that true contentment brings

To cultivate and shape my life, to prune my sin, as with a knife

Called to serve, and qualified, adventure: God! it’s quite the ride

I’ve Been Waiting

When God is ready to use someone for His purposes

I’ve been waiting for this moment, a tool to use, here in My hand

To be willing for My will, following My one command

Willing, ready, for the moment, when the need arises there

Whenever there is opposition, be My tool then, if you dare

Change a heart and change a story, thus we will see good be done

Thus I would redeem a nation, if My people prayed as one

In all things to bring Me glory, for your good, I’m working now

Impossible, but I can do it, trust Me, for I know just how

It’s surprising what can happen, when I utter just a word

People think they have Me cornered, but I can fly just like a bird

Their little box cannot hold Me, the pot, it’s potter tries to mold

Watch me work and give Me glory, new mysteries I will unfold

Sermon Rhymes

God’s word comes to a needy man, with nothing prepped to speak, he can

It fills the mind when needs arise, and pain has brought tears to our eyes

The sermon is here in these lines, in these words that comes to mind

Based on doctrine, given in love, reflect the heart of God above

A unique way to hear God’s voice, we listen as we make the choice

In our mind the rhyming word, echoes with God’s call we’ve heard

Poetry from God today, the gift He gave, it’s writ His way

God’s word will fill the empty soul, heal, forgive and make it whole

Accept the gift you’ve heard today, God’s word directs and shows the way

The Preacher’s Gift

The preacher’s gift is God’s own Word, which you have heard here in this place

He’s no control to change your life, but beckons you to seek God’s face

The power resides within the Word, the God who made the land and see

Though high and holy, lifted up, He reaches down to you and me

Through words of grace, and warning too, the hearers feel the preacher’s heart

Obedience to God’s command is how they will fulfill their part

He’s hard at work reaching the lost, returning them into the fold

Disciple-making is his call, teach them to be, faithful and bold

Spawning leaders coming after, through his ministry they’ve grown

Share the load and speak in measure, for God’s words are not your own

The power in the living Word, spoken by God’s chosen man

Hearts can change and turn the tide, bring God’s blessing on their land

Always ere, the preacher is, an empty vessel to be filled

Used by God to bring His message, the fallow ground His word will till

God’s word affects the preacher’s heart, before the message is begun

And through his voice He speaks to those, who are waiting to be won

Always relying on the Word that God gives him while we wait

Words have power in the kingdom, they will win over hell’s gate

God’s hand is moving through the message, reborn hearts will hear His call

Grace received and strongholds broken, they will come and give their all

Never glory to the speaker, words flow through a willing heart

Glory only to the Father, as His body does each part

Seeking God for all the answers that are needed every day

For the needs of all the searching that he meets along the way

Turn not to the right or left, straight upon the path you’ll stay

Walking humbly with the Master, follow faithful every day

Within His will I’ll be compliant, seeking what He ere might do

With just one heart completely given to do His will and work it through

Walk with me on this adventure, give your life to this pursuit

Joy in service you can’t fathom, life with God is just a hoot!

Following God’s Call

From the first day of creation, God’s work is plainly seen,

through all the plants and animals, with rain, it all turned green

Mankind was the best thing that God had ever made,

redemption’s plan at this point was already laid

His calling is immutable unto His own elect,

and with them He will build His church, a humble, holy sect

His calling is upon those who know and serve Him well,

they all submit to suffer, the gospel thus to tell

My life to give in service, devoted to my King,

all my talents focused on the praises I will bring

For His path is higher than what I see from here,

and His love is deeper, it always draws me near

Opportunities that I have are given from above,

just to show to someone else the greatness of His love

To bring to someone’s mind, to reach into the dark,

and ignite a ready soul who’s looking for a spark

Push me out from my comfort zone, to where You’re working now,

Your spirit works in wondrous ways and I can’t explain how

Your holy name be lifted high and we will bring You praise,

You write our names upon Your hands, You number all our days

You vanquish all Your enemies who fall at just Your word,

Your eye is on the sparrow, the flight of one small bird

Sharing with a baker about the living bread,

keeping truth succinct enough to get inside his head

Loving those who know not love and sharing Your great plan,

helping them to understand the gulf Your grace did span

For our sin has fixed a gulf, beyond which we can’t go,

but Your truth has been revealed, the love of God we know
